Hey everyone. I kinda disappeared on you, I know, I'm really sorry. School's been real demanding this year, and I guess it's taken a toll on me and my free time, and my drawing time. So, I'm now on proper hiatus. I've missed you all so much, and I will answer all comments and thank everyone for their favs once I get the time, kay? Cheers

2. Have you ever had the revelation "hang on! This character is just like ME!" If so who was it~?
Hmm, I've found characters I can reaaaally relate to and with whom I have a lot in common, but I haven't found one that's *just* like me. I mean, I can relate to several characters (have you ever heard of the Mentalist? Lisbon really reminds me of myself sometimes, though I'm not nearly as serious and lenient as she is) Generally, it's just a few key parts of them I identify with, but then there are other parts that aren't like me at all. So, yah, no.
3. Favourite weather?
CLOUDY. Well, specifically, it's nice when it's cloudy but there are still patches of sky here and there, and it's generally bright but without the sun actually being visible. And there's a slight wind. And it's cold enough that I need a hoodie but warm enough that I don't need a jacket. That, my friend, is paradise.
4. If you could have any animal as a pet real or not (from a game, etc..), what animal would you want?

5. Did watching a tv show/playing a game etc... ever inspire you to do something that you normally never would've done? LIKE PLAYING SPORTS OR SKYDIVING!
Ahaha playing sports? God forbid! Nah, I kid, I kid. Mwell, not long ago I watched "Bright Star" (a movie about the life of the poet Keats) and then the trailer for "The Hollow Crown" (wish I could've watched it, HNNNGGHH why must I live in Greece?) and that led me to read Shakespeare, whom I adored. Yay, how exciting!
6. What's your favourite song to listen to lately?

Ah, that's a haaaard one. I've lost track of most other people's OCs, so I'll just go ahead and pick one of mine. My all-time favourite has to be Psycho, I love that cat, and then there's a new one of my lil' babies called Leicester, of whom I have but sketches and a ref sheet. 8. If you could pick a specific book/comic/manga etc... to be adapted into a tv show, which one would you pick?
Ooh, hard one there, as they usually screw things up when they make things into tv shows and movies. I... I really don't know, perhaps Terry Pratchet's "Maskerade" might be a fun one.
9. And finally: What do you wish you had right now!
A glass of nice, cool water and some ice cream. Or coffee, yessss, a nice cold cup would be sheer perfection (I don't usually drink coffee, but right now one would be just great. But then I won't sleep before 3am, and that's just annoying)

Hm, well, I'm no longer exactly proud of it, but back when I first joined I really liked cats and magic, so yeah, kittenmagic. Whoo.
I joined because I like to draw, and this place seemed fun, and I just wanted to post my stuff somewhere and get reviews and discuss about drawings with others.

Ah, erm, I am good at analyzing situations, looking at all sides objectively and giving advice? That's what I've been told. Otherwise, some say I write well, but I rarely show my writing to people.

Gah, don't quite have one, anything that makes good gyro (greek fast food thing, yeah) is good!

"My life" (or however it's english name is, it's a compilation of small Tchekhov novels. I worship it.)
"The Golden Compass" and the other two books (read them when I was younger and really, really liked them)
well, truth is, the only one I really truly adore is Tchekhov, because sad fact: I haven't read all that many books recently, but I read some Shakespear sonnets the other day and was mesmerized; also, I've found a greek writer by the name of Kazantzakis whose little writing that I've read I have adored, and I bet that after I've read an actual book of his I'll forever be a fan.

Lately I've noticed a change in the way I draw, and I wanted to ask if anyone's had the same experience before. Not just a style change, most people go through that a lot (and so do I), but I mean a change in the whole drawing process.
Usually, I'd go make a rough sketch of something, then I'd make a more detailed one, then I'd to some lineart and sometimes I'd colour it. Now, I've progressed to something kinda weird. In "Too much", I did a rough sketch, intending for it to remain a sketch, then I added some darker shadows, still sketchy and messy. I discarded the shadows because I didn't like them, and decided to draw some wounds. I liked how they turned out, but then the sketch was too fuzzy. I thought of doing lineart: didn't want it to be that refined, I wasn't planning on putting it somewhere so it could just stay all messy. So, I picked up the Pen tool (makes sharper lines, good for lineart) and started making this sketchy sort of lineart mock-up, blocking in dark shadows that weren't there before, making little lines around the blood and stuff, drawing strands of hear etc etc, all with the same fairly small brush, not thinking much about where I put what.
Why's that strange? Because, 1) I usually do really detailed sketches before going on to the lineart, 2) I try and make really clean lineart, 3) I don't colour before finishing the lineart, 4) I don't do lineart-shadows and black shadows and 5) I usually get lazy with the big black areas and use a large brush to just block them in, but this time I didn't change the size, and made the black sort of sketchy and inconsistent and messy. Oh, and I don't get realistic portraits to look good. EVER. But this one did, and I only had references from other angles to make it, it sort of just sprung from my head. Oh, and the type in the background was an afterthought. I don't usually get those. I think of a picture, I start to draw it, it comes out sort of like I wanted it to. This was just: draw some face of sorts, grab some random Loki and Hiddles refs and improvise. The mood was subconsciously set to the music I was listening to and, boom, there it is, a random sketchy portrait-ish thing, just like that.
I like drawing this way. It's more free, more impulsive, more sketchy. I don't dislike making clean drawings, but they're kinda tedious and sometimes boring and just too nice and neat. This mess, to me, is more expressive and free and chaotic, an almost-sketch, meant to have the tone of a sketch but coming out a bit neater. It keeps its emotion, its personal quality. It doesn't rely only on the expression to give out a mood or feeling, the strokes, the whole tone, the messiness and sharpness and muddiness of it all tells the story as well.
And so, I come to ask of you whether you've experienced this before, whether you agree or disagree on sketchy stuff being more expressive and free than their really neat and clean counterparts, whether taking out all the mess takes out some feeling with it etc etc. [Sorry for the mountain of text, kudos if you read till here]
